I love this place. Pasqual’s has been in Santa Fe forever and it is always good whether you are going for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We went for dinner and the food was excellent but that is only half of it. The vibe is amazing. It’s a tiny joint with a community table in the middle and the place is always filled with cool, interesting people. I had the Cactus Salad and the COCHINITA PIBIL ~ YUCATAN STYLE ~ Becker Lane Organic Pork, Slow Cooked in Banana Leaf, with Achiote, Citrus, Calabacitas, Habanero~Marinated Onions, Fried Plantains. Anything that is slow cooked in a banana leaf I am going to get. Yum! They are also famous for their STELLAR QUINOA BURGER ~ Minced Portobello Mushrooms, Sweet Potato, Zucchini, Tomato Chutney, Fried Shallots, English Muffin or Gluten-Free Multi-Seed English Muffin Guacamole, Field Greens Salad ~ Balsamic Vinaigrette. Beautiful! Go!
A Little Bit Of French In Santa Fe
If you are staying near the Plaza in Santa Fe and want to grab a quick breakfast hit up the French Pastry Shop. It is in the La Fonda Hotel (which has a killer roof top deck with a bar and killer sunset) and has a street entrance. They have coffee and scratch made pastries. But I had the Tourte Milanese. Which is a traditional French breakfast dish that is a puff pastry with egg, cheese, meat and veges. Pretty tasty. Give it a shot.
Santa Fe Bite. The Search For The Best Green Chile Cheeseburger Continues
Santa Fe has such great New Mexican Food. And they are famous for their local green chiles, so you know that a green chile cheese burger is sitting on a few menus in town. Santa Fe Bite is a casual spot with a patio in Garrett’s Desert Inn serving burgers, Tex-Mex eats, shakes & local beer. But I was told they deliver a helluva green chile cheeseburger and they did not disappoint. It was huge, juicy and tasty. And the house made chips were an added bonus. Outstanding. Second only to Bang Bite Filling Station. But this Santa Fe Bite is a sit-down restaurant where you can get a nice local beer too. Bang Bite is a food truck. Both are great so hit em both up and let me know what you think!
Bang Bite Filling Station Put A Smile On My Face Baby
If you love a good burger and are near Santa Fe New Mexico, go to Bang Bite Filling Station. Absolutely one of the best burgers I have ever had. And I have had a lot. It’s a food truck but stays in one spot. I got the Green Chile Cheeseburger with avocado, bacon and a jalapeño aioli sauce. I am telling you: ridiculous! Everything was so fresh including the bun. It will be my go to place in Santa Fe. Please go!
Casa Chimayo Is All Family
I love local joints and even better when they are family run and even more better when it’s a 3rd generation family run joint. In Santa Fe New Mexico that’s Casa Chimayo. New Mexico is known for amazing Mexican food and its all about the locally grown green chiles so on a recent trip to Santa Fe this was the first place we hit. They are known for their Blue Corn Enchiladas. I got the chicken. Amazing!!! But when Tim Cordova (owner) came by our table to say hi, which I loved, and he said we must try the Chile en Nogada which is a green chile stuffed with meat, cheese and spices and topped with a white cream sauce. Outstanding! This place is a total dive with tons of character and great food. If there is room, eat on the back patio, Enjoy.
For All Those Driving From Denver To Santa Fe
Hey! For those of you who are making the drive down I25 from Denver to Santa Fe to spend a weekend eating incredible New Mexican food, if you want a delicious place to stop for lunch half way? Stop in Trinidad and hit up The Cafe. It’s right on Main St, which is cool, and everything is fresh fresh fresh! I had the Turkey Wrap and a side of greens. Nice little healthy munch to hold me over! Worth the stop.
I Luv A Good Burger And Larkburger Delivers
Bar Takito Delivers Big Flavor
Bar Takito is in the trendy West Loop Neighborhood of Chicago. This area was deadsville 5 years ago and is now filled with many great places to eat. Bar Takito is a funky place for ceviche & creative Nuevo Latino small & large plates plus margaritas & craft beers. I had the Fish Tacos and they had HUGE flavor and my friend had the Coffee Briased Beef Tacos which were delicious as well. Fun atmosphere and the service was excellent. Great place for lunch or dinner.
Chicago Is Known For It’s Hotdogs But Don’t Forget The Italian Beef
Chicago is known for it’s Chicago Style Hotdogs but their Italian Beef Sandwiches are not to be missed. And there is none better than Al’s Italian Beef. They are just delicious. They use Vienna Beef which is key because there’s is the best. It is thinly sliced and dipped in killer au ju and served on a steamed french roll. I like mine with sweet and hot peppers. So good. And NO it’s not healthy but sometimes that’s just the way it goes!!!
Bavette’s In Chi-Town Is A Must
Chicago is famous for it’s steak houses. There are lots of good ones; Gibsons, Maestros, Prime & Provisions, Harry Carys. And now there is Bavette’s Bar & Boeuf. This is owned by the group that owns Gilt Bar and Au Cheval which are wonderful as well. This is a steak house but what makes it unique is that it has a French twist and the atmosphere is so cool. They are mixing some serious craft cocktails and their wine and beer list is great. The food is wonderful as well. My filet mignon was so good as was the creamed spinach. I am so glad someone in my party ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger and gave me half of it because it rocked. For desert we all shared the Chocolate Pie which was ridiculous! Such a great place! But not cheap.
